Amy Jill 3 With her silky voice Amy Jill unveils an unusually intimate world of sound. Icons Marilyn Monroe, Nicole Kidman, Diana Krall come to mind - even a touch of Jessica Rabbit (in 3-D.)

2009 brings a brand-new CD, Snow Snow Snow Snow, a collaboration with renowned pianist/vocalist, arranger and composer Bradley Williams. This recording breathes new life into winter songs and holiday favorites, including “Santa Baby,” “Let it Snow,” and “Christmas Time is Here.” Some forgotten gems, and a new Christmas composition by Williams, “The Snowman,” round out this colorful assortment of music. Lush string quartet arrangements, along with swinging jazz renditions (featuring the trombone of Russ Phillips) and even a multi-vocalist reggae version of “Mary’s Boy Child,” make for a vibrant musical tapestry.

Something’s Coming, Amy’s debut CD, released in 2007, sets a mood of happiness and hopefulness about love and life with songs by Bernstein, Loesser, and Mandel, along with Brazilian offerings of Lins and Jobim. Backed by the Bradley Williams trio, and special guests, Rich Fudoli and Paulhino Garcia, Amy Jill offers a sophisticated approach to old and new favorites.

Amy’s love affair with music began at her family’s central Illinois farm. At a young age, Amy perused her parents’ eclectic record collection, learning big band, Broadway, classical and country music. Corralling the cats for an audience, she performed an ever changing musical show. Most intrigued by composers from the American Songbook and vocalists, such as Julie Andrews and Judy Garland, it is no surprise Amy’s musical style evolved into jazz.

Beginning her performing career in St. Louis, Amy eventually settled in the Chicago area. She most recently appeared at The Art Institute, Katerina’s and Cheney Mansion in Oak Park.
