Audley L. Reid a.k.a. “Reid” began his musical career 25 years ago. His sophisticated approach to smooth jazz mesmerizes listeners of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Reid is known for his rich sound and exceptional versatility. Although Jamaica proclaims Reid as a native countryman, the Windy City has been home throughout his musical career.

Reid has been described as a cross between David Sanborn and the late sax genius Art Porter. His polished fusion of jazz, funk, Latin and soul helps to create a sound that is ground-breaking and distinctive. Reid’s style earned him a 2006 Chicago Music Award nomination for Best Jazz Artist.

Although he prefers the alto sax, Reid is superbly skilled on the soprano sax, tenor sax, baritone sax, and flute.

Reid has shared the stage with several entertainment greats including Ramsey Lewis, Buddy Guy, Joe Williams, Phil Perry, Michael White, Kim Fields, Ray Fuller, Mike Mason, Nick Colionne, Howard Hewett, A.J. Brown, Melvin Miller, and Norman Connors. Reid’s saxophone styling has afforded him tremendous opportunities throughout the United States as well as Mexico, Asia, Canada, Europe and Jamaica.

Reid’s solo and group performances with various bands, including his own fittingly coined “Audley Reid Jazz Ensemble and Leverage(RB/Jazz/Motown/Top 40),” have delighted audiences at a multitude of social galas, venues and events. These include Will Downing, ETA Music Monday, Michael White Smooth Jazz Explosion/Class Act Entertainment (Everette Harp, Jeff Gollub, Maysa, Waymon Tisdale, and Phil Perry), V. Holmes "Tribute to the Motown Greats," Universal Soul Circus, Northern Trust Bank, Flossmoor Country Club, the Boys and Girls Club, the 2005/2006/2007 “Taste of Chicago,” Chicago’s new jazz and comedy club, Jokes and Notes and The 1st Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival with “Chicago Sax In The City”.
