Denise Brigham

Wherever she performs she brings down the house! The most often heard expression is "how does such a big voice come out of such a tiny person?". Indeed her 5'3" stature hides a voice that rivals the best in professional entertainment anywhere. While her repertoire is strong in classic jazz she also performs material from opera to pop and show tunes to dance.

Denise studied under Chicago's top voice coach Randy Buescher and has performed with area big bands and orchestras. For several years she had her own highly acclaimed nightclub show and has been a frequent guest singer with many other well known entertainers including Victor Pacini, Vic Flanagan Jerry Hendrix of the Drifters, and Chicago's legendary Milt Trenier. In early 2008 she turned her attention solely to recording in a project that was take a year to complete.

Denise is now doing concerts and promoting her first major album, HOTEL LAFAYETTE. It was produced, arranged and orchestrated by Carey Deadman and recorded at the Chicago Recording Company. Colin Welford conducted the orchestra which was made up of Chicago's finest professional musicians. Along with the great vocals and orchestration there are also many outstanding solos by the city's best including Carey Deadman, Jeremy Kahn, Eric Schneider, Mike Smith and Mark Colby. The album was released with high critical acclaim and and even received a strong endorsement from Lalo Schifrin who called it "outstanding" for her version of The Cincinnati Kid which he wrote. For all who love well orchestrated Standards this will be a must for their collection.

In addition to her love for singing Denise also enjoys acting and performing on stage. She works regularly with actor, director and producer Ed Fogell's Chicago Actor's Studio, and has participated in improv shows as well.
