Like most musicians, I wear a few different hats.

As a jazz pianist, I have been lucky enough to have performed with some great musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Frank Catalano, Spider Saloff, Luba Mason, Ava Logan, Art Davis, Bill Yancey and many others.
I'm also a composer. My CD “House Hour” features all original compositions, with the exception of my arrangement of the standard tune “The Midnight Sun” by Lionel Hampton and Sonny Burke. The CD features great performances by saxophonist Frank Catalano and trumpeter Art Davis. In a review of this CD, the Jazz Institute of Chicago referred to my arrangements as “witty” and described me as having an “unambiguous attack of the keyboard.” I am currently working on a new CD project of all original songs. For the last 8 years, I have also taught at the Bloom School of Jazz – Chicago’s oldest institution dedicated to jazz education. I teach private piano lessons and I accompany Spider Saloff's classes for vocalists.
My interest in jazz began in grade school when I discovered Daddio Daley’s radio program on what was then WXFM. With a lot of tenacity and a little help from my older brother, I learned how to play the blues and to read music – I had no formal lessons until I was in college. Still, by the time I was studying music as an undergraduate, I was proficient enough to be selected to perform in a trio with guest-artist Wynton Marsalis, which was a fantastic experience for me! I went on to earn a Master of Music degree from DePaul University in Chicago.
