LINDA SOLOTAIRE (vocals, leader) has had principal roles in scores of theatrical and on-camera projects ranging from Catherine in O’Neill’s 'Mourning Becomes Electra' to Annie in 'Annie Get Your Gun,' to commercial industrial videos and multimedia, to surreal collaborative films. She has performed in a variety of performance situations and venues around the world with audiences ranging from 30 to 30,000 people, including the Lake Placid Olympic Arena (Anita in ‘Westside Story’ with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta), ancient Turkish ruins, and the deck of a battleship in the Mediterranean Sea (DOD tour of ‘Starting Here, Starting Now.’)
Born to an artistic family, Ms. Solotaire started training for the theatre at 5, making her stage debut in 'Showboat' at the age of 11. As a teen, she entered a traditional theatre apprentice program, after which she continued to study dance, voice, music and acting for many years with notable teachers including, for acting - William Hickey at HB Studio in NYC, and for voice Carol Loverde in Chicago. She was invited to join the Actors Equity Association in 1985.
Ms Solotaire received her BA from Columbia College Chicago, where she worked on a program in interdisciplinary arts focusing on performing (voice and acting) and plastic arts. With a background in theory, classical, and 20th-century music, Ms. Solotaire has enjoyed roles in musical theater productions, studio work, as well as collaborations on original works with artists including, new music composer Christopher Preissing, playwright/composer Tom Webber, jazz funk band Original Balance, song writer/poet Everette Howe, and others. She currently performs with - The Linda Solotaire Trio, Linda & the COSMOPOLITANS & a duo with Guitarist Stu Greenspan.
