
Maureen Christine is a celebrated concert vocalist and national recording artist, delighting audiences throughout the country with her “natural melodious, expressive voice” (David Nathan ~ All Music Guide). Maureen, pre-nominated for a 2002 GRAMMY award along side Harry Connic Jr. and Rosemary Clooney, is heralded as “a singer worth crowing about” by the Chicago Northwest Tribune for her thoughtful interpretations of “great American standards,” romantic ballads, and original compositions. Maureen’s concerts are continually met with praise. “Maureen matches a clear and beautiful voice with a genuine, vivacious personality” (Maestro, Galesburg Symphony). She has concertized around the world from Germany to Chicago, appearing at prestigious concert halls, opera houses, cabaret and jazz clubs, and historic landmarks. She has won critical acclaim from New York’s Pink Paper for her “remarkable musical range and superb phrasing.”
As a national recording artist, Maureen has recorded with Pete Christlieb of the Johnny Carson Tonight Show Orchestra, shared the stage with pop star Barry Manilow, and was awarded 1st place in the nation for the original song she wrote for United Way. The demand for Maureen’s “lyrical precision, gift of jazz and sultry ballads” (Show Tunes NY) has produced invitations to perform with esteemed symphony orchestras including the Northwest Indiana Symphony. She has appeared with notable concert bands and jazz “big bands,” including musicians of the Count Basie Orchestra. In Chicagoland, Maureen has headlined at such renowned venues as the Palmer House, The Royal George Cabaret Theater, the historic Woodstock and Oshkosh Opera Houses, and the Holiday Star Plaza Theater. Maureen’s television appearances include her performance on WGN as a frequent singer of The National Anthem for the Chicago Cubs, and various public television programs including Artbeat Chicago. Her theater credits include leading roles in such musicals as “The Sound Of Music,” “My Fair Lady,” and “Lil Abner.”
Maureen’s first CD “My Romance” was recorded with Grammy Nominated pianist Frank Mantooth and jazz saxophonist Pete Christlieb. "My Romance" has been released nationally and received a pre-nomination for a 2002 GRAMMY award in the same category as Harry Connic Jr. and Rosemary Clooney. Her second nationally released CD “The Very Thought Of You,” has sold several thousand copies. Maureen has also released two additional CD's on her own lable "Songs Of The Season" and "Live With Symphony Orchestra."
Currently, Maureen is touring throughout the midwest, enchanting audiences with her acclaimed concerts and warm personality.
