The Mike Jeffers Chicago Jazz Radio Show features interviews and segments with the musicians, venue owners and organizations that help to create the world renowned Chicago Jazz scene. Jeffers also discusses topics and takes phone calls throughout the show giving the jazz fans in Chicago the ability to interact and give opinions about the jazz scene.

ABOUT MIKE JEFFERS
Drummer and Publisher of Chicago Jazz Magazine and ChicagoJazz.com Mike Jeffers started his performance career just after high school with a performance in New York's Carnegie Hall.

The following year Jeffers attended the University of North Texas on a full scholarship and studied total percussion under the instruction of Dr. Robert Schtroma, Paul Rennick, Ed Soph and many others.

Upon returning to Chicago Jeffers began performing throughout the city with different jazz groups and also teaching private lessons. He quickly realized that there was no media promotion of coverage of jazz in Chicago and decided to do something about it.

In 1999 he started ChicagoJazz.com which over the years has included an online magazine, musicians websites, jazz calendars, articles and information related to the Chicago Jazz Scene.

In 2002 he launch the print magazine Chicago Jazz Magazine and also began publishing the official programs for the city of Chicago Blues and Jazz Festivals which happen in downtown Chicago every summer.

In addition to running Chicago Jazz Publishing and Entertainment Jeffers continues to perform on a regular basis throughout the Midwest with several different Jazz and Pop/Rock groups. His over four year residency as the house drummer at the world famous Peninsula Hotel in Chicago helped him to start his entertainment company Chicago Jazz Entertainment. Specializing in corporate receptions, private events and festivals Jeffers helps to create the perfect event for many different events throughout Chicago.
