Paul Marinaro
Paul Marinaro
After studying music and performing in Upstate New York, Paul moved to Chicago in 2003, and has quickly made a name for himself, becoming one of the most respected and in-demand male vocalists in the city.
Jazz vocalist Paul Marinaro enjoys being true to himself and to the material he sings. From swing to torch, from the classics to the contemporary, Paul’s warm baritone voice is filled with nuance, wit, and taste. While his vocal style is peppered with traces of his influences, he has successfully forged his own sound and personality. His performances all possess a fresh, playful, and inventive sense of rhythm and melody, and an expansive repertoire.
In Chicago, Paul has been featured at numerous venues, yet it was a well received 2005 performance alongside Chicago favorite Judy Roberts that forged a musical partnership for the next two years. Paul and Judy quickly became one of Chicago’s most acclaimed duo’s, appearing frequently throughout the city.
Being a reluctant member of Generation X, Paul unfortunately missed the chance to see many of the “Great Ones” who came before him. However, he is thrilled to currently have the chance to be working alongside some of Chicago’s best musicians. Paul can be seen weekly at various venues, most currently with pianist Chris White, and bassist Joe Policastro. Although he maintains and intensely busy performing schedule, new life is always breathed into each performance.
