About:
Known for her subtle and understated yet expressive approach, Libby York is a seasoned jazz singer whose vocals have inspired comparisons to cool jazz stylists Anita O'Day, Chris Connor, June Christy and Julie London as well as to Peggy Lee. York, who divides her time between New York City, Key West, Florida and her native Chicago, has recorded three albums: "Blue Gardenia" (Southport Records), 2004's "Sunday in New York" (a BluJazz release that boasted Count Basie alumni Frank Wess on tenor sax), and her self-produced 2008 release "Here with You" which features cornetist Warren Vaché and guitarists Howard Alden and Russell Malone
