All you Detroiters out there...and Chicagoans who are in the mood for little road trip..... (hey, one friend is coming in from Denver).....are cordially invited to catch a set at the beautiful Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200 Woodward Avenue, Detroit on Friday March 6.
With vocalist Libby York, Jeremy Kahn, piano, Joe Policastro, bass and drummer Greg Sergo. This engagement came about through an appearance in Saugatuck,Michigan last summer, when she was asked to present a musical program for the DIA around the themes of "Innocence and Loss of Innocence" to honor the opening of their new Norman Rockwell exhibit. It struck her as a thought provoking concept since so many great songs from the American Popular Songbook fall into these categories.
She also thanks Ed Love at WDET in Detroit for being such an early supporter of her CD's "Sunday in New York" and "Here With You".
There'll be 2 sets 7 & 8:30pm. Free with museum admission.313-833-0491 www.dia.org
