A native of Madison, Wis., Adams is a winner of the prestigious International Trombone Association's Frank Rosolino Jazz Award. He co-leads and composes for the touring ensemble B3 Bombers and has worked for many years with Clyde Stubblefield, a drummer best known for his work with James Brown.
Adams earned a degree from the University of North Texas, where he met and performed with fellow B3 Bombers members Dan Trudell and Pat Mallinger. Several of Adams' compositions appear on the soon-to-be-released compilation, "The B3 Bombers featuring Clyde Stubblefield: Live at The Green Mill."
Adams has played with The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, through which he earned a coveted Dallas Jazz Society Scholarship. He later toured with Woody Herman's Thundering Herd and has performed with Joe Williams, Clark Terry and Dizzy Gillespie.
