Bolingbrook Art Council World of Wine Press Release

The Third Annual World of Wine, sponsored by the Bolingbrook Arts Council will be presented on Fri., July 18th and Sat., July 19th at the Top Ten Bolingbrook Golf Course located at 2001 Rodeo Dr.

Sample over 60 wines from around the world. Enjoy gourmet food prepared by the Chefs from the excellent culinary staff of the golf course in the Demo tent. Panera will delight you with the combinations of their wonderful breads and spreads, topped off by trays of sweets compliments of the Arts Council. Relax at umbrella tables surrounded by a white picket fence in our white tent village and listen to the music, discuss your favorite wines in preparation for the People’s Choice awards which will confer 1st, 2nd.and , 3rd. place medallions on the chosen wines and just enjoy the day.

There will be a station on cite for you to purchase your choices.

The festivities will begin with a live appearance from the popular radio station, The River, 95.9 fm. At 6:00 p.m. on Fri., July 18th.

Wonderful classical and jazz musicians will round out this exciting summer experience.

For the past three decades, Steve Flowers has entertained Jazz Audiences all over the country. Steve a classically trained flautist, has been performing in both the jazz and classical genres. He brings his unique and special talents to The Bolingbrook Arts Council World of Wine on Friday, July 18th from 7:00 until 10:00 pm.

Appearing with Flautist Steve Flowers is his All star Band Side One featuring recording artists Roger Harris on piano, Phillip Castleberry on electric bass, The master percussionist Eddie Mason and drummer Curtis Bates.

Steve Flowers has performed at the Taste of Chicago and has been the opening act for comedienne Bernie Mac; B.B King, Bobby Blue Bland, European recording artist Alex Bugnon, Vicki Winan, Take 6, and After Seven. Steve played the National Anthem for The New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets.

Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the entertainment will be Lillian Reasor, Celtic harpist and Connoisseur Musica classical quartet and strolling violins.

Saturday night's performers, back for the third straight year by popular demand, are the Latin-flavored jazz group Mambo Zombies.

A trio of veteran studio musicians the Mambo Zombies feature on sax, flute and vocals, Dez Desormeaux, who has performed with Celia Cruz, the O'Jays, Clarence Clemons, the Dells, the Chi Lites, Jr. Wells, Otis Clay, Bo Diddley, Charlotte Church, Charlie Palmieri, Menique, La Lupe, Nestor Sanchez and many more.

On percussion and vocals is Luis Prieto Rosario who has performed with Celia Cruz, Cano Estremera, Michael Stuart, Rico and more. On keys, bass, percussion and vocals is Jose Valdes, who has performed with Tito Puente, Lou Rawls, Paquito D'Rivera, Andy Gonzales, Armando Manzanero, Jose Fajardo, Freddy Cole, Ira Sullivan, and more. Jose is featured on hundreds of television commercials. The Mambo Zombies will perform from 7:00p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Wine connoisseurs, music lovers and fans of fine food, will be delighted by the Bolingbrook Arts Council World of Wine. Friday's World of Wine hours are 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday runs from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 which covers the entrance fee, a wine tasting book good for ten tastings, a glass and souvenir booklet. A second book may be purchased.

Directions: Take I 55 to the Weber Rd. exit (3.3 mi. west of Rte 53) North 1.1 mi. to Rodeo Dr. West on Rodeo Dr. 06mi. to the golf course west parking lot located on the North side of Rodeo Dr.
