Trumpeter Brad Goode and legendary trombonist Curtis Fuller will return to the Green Mill Jazz Club, 4802 N. Broadway, to perform on Friday, October 30, from 9PM until 1AM and on Saturday, October 31, from 8PM until midnight. Pianist Adrean Farrugia, bassist Dennis Carroll and drummer Dana Hall will round out the quintet.

Goode took Chicago by storm when he moved here in the mid-80s, procuring a weekly gig at the Green Mill and playing with the Barrett Deems’ Big Band. In 1998, he left Chicago to become a music professor and now works at the University of Colorado. Citing Clifford Brown as one of his strongest influences, Goode is known for his bright tone, joyous music, clean lines, and stylistic individualism.

SteepleChase has released several live recordings of Goode’s 1980s performances at the Green Mill during which Von Freeman shared the stage with him.
With over 30 albums as a solo artist and over 300 albums as a sideman to his name, trombonist Curtis Fuller has had a tremendous career in jazz. Born in 1934, Fuller has worked with many jazz greats through the years including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, and James Moody.

From 1961 to 1965 Fuller was a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, and during this time he released the classic “Arabia”. In 1974 he became a member of Count Basie’s Orchestra, and in the late 1970s appeared with Lionel Hampton’s Big Band. He has recorded extensively for the Blue Note label and is now a member of the all-star ensemble The Legends of the Bandstand, which includes Cedar Walton, Earl May, Bobby Watson, and Louis Hayes.
