“CHICAGO EMERGING STAR” COMPETITION 2012 SET FOR SUNDAY, NOV 20TH AT KINGSTON MINES BLUES CLUB
PUBLIC INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN JUDGING
At 2 pm Sunday, November 20th at Kingston Mines Blues Club, 2548 North Halsted Street, 36 of Chicago’s most talented emerging entertainers in Pop, R&B, Blues, Reggae, Rock, Gospel, Hip Hop, dance, spoken word and more will square off to become finalists in the 1st annual Chicago Emerging Star Competition (CES). First round eliminations will take place before a live audience made up of the general public. Advance tickets are $10; $15 at the door. The public is invited to be a part of the judging at the family-friendly event. Final selections will be determined by audience applause and a panel of professional judges, all respected industry members. Judges are V-103 Radio personality Casper, music entrepreneur George Daniels, Marshall Thompson of the Chi-Lites, and musician Greg Spero. Finalists will compete for the top slot at the 31st annual Chicago Music Awards with the winner receiving a cash prize and a chance to perform at the IRAWMA Awards at the International Festival of Life and other Martin’s International Culture events.
The 2012 Chicago Music Awards will be held on Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, Sunday, January 15, 2011, at the popular entertainment venue, The Club located at 4829 W. 77th Street (76th St & Cicero Ave) directly across from Ford City Mall in Chicago (Burbank). The celebration officially begins with red carpet arrival at 5:30 pm and VIP Reception at 6 pm. The Awards Ceremony begins at 8 pm. General admission is $31; VIP $75.
