This week on “This is Chicago Jazz” with Mike Jeffers they get a call from Megan at the Auditorium Theatre to discuss the Too Hot To Handel Jazz Gospel Messiah Concert happening January 16th and 17th. Also bassist Nick Schneider calls in to plug his gig at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago on January 13th.
The second hour of the show features an interview with Jazz Record Mart and Delmark Records owner Bob Koester.
Charley Krebs, producer Nick Eipers and Mike Jeffers explore the long tradition of jazz and blues that Koester has helped to promote and keep alive over the years.
