Creating a Ten Day Jazz Scene at the Taste of Chicago at No Cost to the City
Chicago Jazz Magazine and Gallo Wine have teamed up to present ten days of Chicago Jazz at this year’s Taste of Chicago. The Taste of Chicago is the city’s largest festival with over 2 million people in attendance throughout the ten day event that showcases a wide array of food from Chicago’s diverse dining community. This year local Chicago jazz will be featured at the Gallo Wine Garden throughout the Taste of Chicago with two sets each day. “This is an incredible opportunity to showcase local Chicago jazz artists to a large casual music audience that might not know exactly what jazz is and have not experienced it in a live setting” says Mike Jeffers musician and owner of Chicago Jazz Magazine. “Hopefully this will help to grow the audience for jazz in Chicago and make them aware of the incredible local talent we have here in the city all while enjoying some wonderful wine!”
Starting May 24th and running until July 3rd there will two sets of music performed each day at the Gallo Wine Garden which will be located near Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. The first set each day will start at 2:30pm and run until 4:30pm and will feature different pianist/vocalists. The second set which starts at 5pm and runs through 7:30pm will feature several different groups with featured artists.
Also thanks to the partnership between Gallo Wine and Chicago Jazz Magazine the ten days of live music will be featured at no expense to the city of Chicago.
