WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2008
FRIDAY & SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 & 4, 2008

"Django Reinhardt clearly is alive and well and swinging in Chicago."
– Howard Reich, Chicago Tribune

The Green Mill is proud to host three nights of the 6th Annual Chicago Gypsy Jazz Festival. The festival is the brainchild of Alfonso Ponticelli, leader of Chicago's premier gypsy jazz ensemble Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan. This event has always presented one of the most memorable weekends of the year at the Green Mill.

Kicking off the nights at the Green Mill, 4802 N. Broadway, on Wednesday, October 1, from 9pm-1am, will be Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan featuring Tony Ballog on violin, Juliano Milo on accordion, Alfonso Ponticelli and Jason Miller on guitar, Louie Marini on bass, and Joe Adamik on drums.

On Friday, October 3, from 9pm-1am, the Gonzalo Bergara Trio (Gonzalo Bergara on guitar, Jeff Radaich on guitar, and Beau Sample on bass) from Los Angeles will open for Madison's Harmonious Wail (Maggie Delaney-Potthoff on vocals and percussion, Sims Delaney-Potthoff on mandolin, tenor guitar, ukulele, and vocals, Matt Rodgers on string bass, David Adler on melodica & percussion (conga), and Henry Delaney-Potthoff on guitar.

Saturday, October 4, from 8pm-midnight, will showcase The Hot Club of Detroit with Julian Labro on accordion, Carl Cafagna on saxophone, Paul Brady and Evan Perri on guitar, and Shannon Wade on bass.
