The lights will be lowered – the candles will be lit. The Ouija board will be dusted off and brought up from the basement. It’s a “Dead Man’s Party”, and the tortured souls of musicians gone too soon will come back for an epic Halloween weekend jam session. Overdoses, plane crashes, homicides, freak accidents, suicides etc… If it wasn't their time: lePercolateur and the Paul Abella Trio will be playing their songs! Featuring music from Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Amy Winehouse, The Grateful Dead, Marilyn Monroe, Jaco Pastorius, Warrant, Nirvana, Weezer, the Who, Elvis, Sublime and more... These artists’ iconic music will once again be performed in Chicago - this time by the Windy City’s most unique gypsy jazz band and jazz hippie experience.

Local gypsy-jazz group, lePercolateur, kicks off the evening performing their own style of ‘hipster gypsy-jazz’ with a gypsified “Dead Man’s Party” Musical Costume flair. Featuring soulful singing intertwined with dexterous violin solos over exciting multi-guitar rhythms and a solid bass foundation, each member of this band brings their unique stylistic imprint to the mix. lePercolateur may be remembered for its gypsy-jazz interpretation of modern pop and rock music, but the group keeps audiences on their toes with a clever mixture of vocal and instrumental songs, including all the favorite jazz standards of the early 20th century.

Following lePercolateur, the Paul Abella Trio will take the stage, donning their "Dead Man’s Party" musical costume. Hits from these lost souls will be added to the PA3's already audacious mix of jazz, samba, salsa, blues and rock. Taking inspiration from a long line of jazz musicians, the Paul Abella Trio is equal parts modern jazz band, eclectic jam band and populist bar band.

This Halloween weekend Friday the 28th, lePercolateur and The Paul Abella Trio hit the Store in Lincoln Park. Watch as these two Chicago musical powerhouses share the stage for a night of jammin' grooves, groovin' jams and some music that is rarely, if ever, attempted in the jazz arena.
