One of Chicago’s leading jazz pianists, Jon Hey presents “Better Get Hit In Your Soul – The Music of Charles Mingus”. His experienced group of musicians will perform the music of Charles Mingus, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Eric Dolphy and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Mingus, an American musical hero is one of the greatest figures in jazz history. His bass playing, compositions and philosophy transcended his genre and left indelible marks on jazz history.
