lePercolateur has been playing to rapt audiences in the Chicagoland area for the past 3 years and has been featured in such illustrious locations as the Galaxie, Katerina's, the Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival and the Chicago Jazz Festival C.Jazz Stage. At 8pm Wednesday night March 16th, their caravan pulls into the fantastic Chopin Theatre for a "Gypsy-Jazz Spectacular." This 1918 constructed former Nickelodeon's Main Stage will serve as the perfect setting for all the wonderment, surprise and musical acrobatics their fans (affectionately dubbed Percolateers) have come to expect.
Local gypsy-jazz group, lePercolateur, performs their own style of 'hipster gypsy-jazz.' Featuring soulful singing intertwined with dexterous violin solos over exciting multi-guitar rhythms and a solid bass foundation, each member of this band brings their unique stylistic imprint to the mix. lePercolateur may be remembered for its gypsy-jazz interpretation of modern pop and rock music, but the group keeps audiences on their toes with a clever mixture of vocal and instrumental songs, including all the favorite jazz standards of the early 20th century.
