Wednesday, May 13, 7 pm reception, 7:30 pm show $25Vocalist Elaine Dame performs some of her favorite jazz standards with guitarist Andy Brown and bassist Joe Policastro.
Her voice once compared to "clarified honey," Dame began singing in Chicago in the mid-‘90s. Since then, she has performed in more than 100 venues in and around Chicago, from the Adler Planetarium to Zambuca Restaurant and all the hot jazz spots in between. In 2005, her debut album, Comes Love, was released to wide critical praise.

Cabaret diva, Pump Room resident performer and Play On Cabaret alumna Nan Mason visits Maxim's other series to talk with Rick about her life and music. A Washington, D.C. native, Mason came to Chicago to study theater at DePaul University and sing rock 'n' roll. In the late 1970s, she turned torch singer and sang at the Pump Room for most of a decade before moving to New York and Hollywood, where she did commercials and jingles, and made motion pictures. She has appeared on countless stages in the US and abroad.
Back in Chicago, she currently appears at the Pump Room at the Ambassador East Hotel Wednesday through Saturday, every week. Her CDs include Something Cool and One For My Baby, a tribute to Harold Arlen released in February 2005 in honor of his 100th birthday. Live at Maxim’s will be recorded and excerpts will be played on Rick’s Sunday morning show
