On the heels of their performance in the Chicago Jazz Composers Collective Showcase at the Green Mill, pianist Josh Moshier and saxophonist Mike Lebrun brought their quartet to Transient Sound in April to record an album of newly composed songs. Guitarist John Moulder performed on four tracks with the group, which features bassist Robert Meier and drummer Max Krucoff.
The group has been honing their sound and concept over the past year through performances across the city, including multiple dates at Andy’s Jazz Club and Uncommon Ground. The album will feature Lebrun’s tune “Jambo,” which was awarded Best Small Group Composition at the 2008 International Jazz Composers Symposium in Tampa, FL.
