NAPERVILLE, Ill. (July 12, 2010)—Following is a calendar of events taking place at North Central College July 16 through Aug. 1:
Through July 22, Art exhibit: The public is invited to view the free exhibit “States: Paintings from the American Road” by Karen Stinnett through July 22 in North Central College’s Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St., Naperville. The exhibit features paintings of barns, landscapes, signs and wheels from America’s 50 states. July 16-25, Theatre: North Central College's Summer Music Theatre presents the family musical “A Year with Frog and Toad” July 16-25, featuring 110 actors from the community. The kid-friendly show, nominated for three Tony Awards, is a whimsical story that follows an unlikely friendship between a cheerful and popular Frog and a rather grumpy Toad. Six performances will be staged at 7:30 p.m. July 16, 17, 23 and 24 and at 2 p.m. July 18 and 25 in Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville. July 17, 19-23, Music: Vocalists Janice Borla, Jay Clayton and Madeline Eastman combine their talents with noted instrumentalists for the “Hot Jazz—6 Cool Nites” concert series at North Central College. Performances will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17, and Monday through Thursday, July 19-22 and 7 p.m. Friday, July 23, in North Central's Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Tickets for the first five shows are $20/adults, $15/students and senior citizens for individual shows, and a four-night concert pass is available for $60/adults, $45/students and senior citizens. July 16-18, 23-25, Theatre: The Summer Place, “Naperville’s Community Theatre,” returns to its roots at North Central College with six performances of “Lend Me a Tenor” at 8 p.m. July 16-17 and July 23-24 and 3 p.m. July 18 and July 25 in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S.
