Ramsey Lewis in Concert at the UIC Forum
The UIC Forum welcomes jazz legend Ramsey Lewis in concert on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 8:00 p.m, 725 West Roosevelt Road.
Three-time Grammy winner and native Chicagoan Lewis has been referred to as “the great performer,” a title which reflects his performance style and musical selections demonstrating his early gospel playing and classical training along with his love of jazz and other musical forms.
In addition to his multitude of awards and honors, composer and jazz pianist Lewis is the current artistic director of the Ravinia Festival “Jazz at Ravinia” series and was the host of “The Ramsey Lewis Morning Show” for more than ten years on the former Chicago smooth jazz radio station, WNUA.
The evening begins with a performance by jazz vocalist Julia Huff.
Ticket prices are $35.00 for all seats. Ticket prices do not include tax and applicable fees.
