PianoForte's popular Jazz Salon series is back! This season we've moved the concerts to Fridays at 6:00 pm, and we've added some duos and trios to the line-up. The concerts coincide with the Fine Arts Building's "Second Fridays" monthly open houses, so you can stop by after work, enjoy a Jazz Salon, and explore everything else the building has to offer. Add dinner to the mix, and you have an exciting evening out in downtown Chicago!
Our first artist this season is STEVE MILLION. A fixture on the Chicago jazz scene, Million is a rare prize. His piano playing is distinct and intelligent, shaped by timbres and rhythms that speak of his passion for the music of Thelonius Monk and his great respect for progenitors like Duke Ellington, Cedar Walton, and Paul Bley.
