Urban Aspirations will have its first ever fund raiser for “Young Natives” Student Jam Sessions, Wednesday July 15th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Sikia Restaurant 740 West 63rd street, Chicago, IL.
This event will be a B.Y.O.B buffet with live entertainment featuring Chicago jazz notable; trumpeter, Corey Wilkes, with special guest appearance by premier jazz pianist Ken Chaney.
U.A. is looking to raise seed money and awareness to kick off another round of “Young Natives” scheduled to start in October 2009 and run through May, 2010. “Young Natives” Student Jam Sessions is an open jam session for Chicago area student jazz musicians from elementary to college, located on the south side of Chicago, at Washburn Culinary Institute’s Sikia Restaurant; Kennedy King campus
Tickets are $30.00 per person and are available on line at Brown Paper Tickets, Young Natives Fund Raiser, or for pick up at: Sikia Restaurant 740 West 63rd Street 773-602-5200, and Inka Internet Station 11320 South Halsted 773-264-9200. (There is a five dollar corking fee for B.Y.O.B.)
