Join PianoForte for a 2:00 pm workshop in which Chicago jazz pianist Frank Caruso, author of Piano Improvisation: A Powerful, Practical System, shares his unique, easy to understand approach to improvisation.
Suitable for students, teachers, and anyone interested in learning the basics of improvisation at the piano.

Come back at 7:00 pm to see and hear Frank Caruso in action when he performs a solo concert!

Frank Caruso has played piano professionally since he was 12 years old. He has appeared with jazz legends like Henry Mancini, Louie Bellson, Herbie Hancock, Maynard Ferguson, Dave Douglas and the Count Basie Orchestra. He was also a featured performer at the White House birthday Party for Duke Ellington, he performed with Luciano Pavarotti at the United Center, and he's been heard at Ravinia with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. When he's not performing, he teaches jazz studies at North Central College and Elmhurst College.
