The Chicago Green Business Summit will kick off Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Venue One located 1044 W. Randolph St., across from Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Studios. Presented by United for a Sustainable America, the event will feature a keynote address by Pepsico North American Sustainability Director Tim Carey, featured speaker Stockton Williams from (HUD- Greener Cities/Energy Efficient Markets-Washington D.C.), Michelle Jost Parker – Director of Sustainable Practices - John G. Shedd Aquarium Paul Murray – Environmental Affairs Manager Herman Miller, Suzanne Malec-McKenna-Commissioner of the Department of Environment Chicago and invited for featured remarks, Mayor Richard M. Daley.
In addition Chicago’s own award winning innovative LEED AP architect, Doug Farr, author of Sustainable Urbanism, will be one of three progressive moderators for the distinctive panels. One panel features the financing of leading green projects, other new disruptive green technologies, and the final panel will feature larger institutions managing sustainability in their respective environments. The summit will feature shares of support from local elected officials, regional and national businesses.
The Chicago Green Business Summit, being called, “A Sustainable Center,” with the many sustainable products that will be featured in the building such as LED lighting, HVAC savings sciences, and Solar energy to manage the buildings utility’s in a more sustainable way.
