The Green Mill will once again host the annual benefit for Toys for Tots on Wednesday, December 9, from 9 pm until 1 am. People bringing a new toy to the Mill that evening will receive free admission. Guitarists John McLean, Dave Onderdonk, John Moulder, Ernie Denov and Chris Siebold, bassist Larry Kohut, drummer Tom Radtke, under the name of Guitar Madness will provide the evening’s entertainment.

The Toys for Tots program was started by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve fifty-two years ago, and has since donated 257,000,000 toys to 127,000,000 needy children throughout the U.S. The initial goal that remains the hallmark of the program today is to "bring the joy of Christmas to America's needy children.” Distributing "hand-me-down" toys does not send the message Marines want to send to needy children. The goal is to deliver a message of hope that will build self-esteem and in turn motivate needy children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. The Marines feel that new toys are the best means of accomplishing this goal.
