This is the fourth year that the Marine Corps has brought together this group of Marines, stationed throughout the U.S. and Japan at various Marine Corps Installations to include Okinawa, Japan; Quantico, VA; Norfolk, VA; Camp Lejuene, NC; Paris Island, SC; San Diego, CA; and Miramar, CA.
In 2009 the group recorded a CD entitled "Play With Honor", featuring a mix of traditional and contemporary jazz selections, (Willie Maiden, Bobby Shew, Mike Tomaro, Irving Berlin) as well as an original by one of the band members and a stirring jazz rendition of "The Stars and Stripes Forever". Past tours have included the Lakeside Jazz Festival in Daytona Beach and the Northern Michigan University Jazz Festival in Marquette, MI.
This year's tour will feature performances throughout Chicago and the surrounding area, including concerts at the Union League of Chicago, University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), University of Illinois Urbana, The
Purdue Jazz Festival, The Northshore jazz festival at Glenbrook South High School, and Northwestern University featuring jazz director and Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra member Victor Goines.
