Fifty-six years ago a local music teacher recognized the need for a regional educational arts center. He believed that all students deserved to learn from master teachers and that the best learning happens in a magic setting. Thus, what is now known as the Shell Lake Arts Center was born.
The needs identified in the 1960s are as true today as they were back then. The Shell Lake Arts Center offers instruction from world-renowned instructors, encourages students of all abilities to come and learn, and is located a short walk from one of the most beautiful beaches and spring-fed lakes in the upper midwest.
