Paterson talks about starting on piano at an early age
  and discovering jazz music, attending the University of
  Chicago as a political science major while starting to
  integrate himself into the Chicago jazz scene, joining
  Von Freeman's band and playing with him until his
  passing, performing and touring with Bobby Broom and
  his trio while opening for Steely Dan, his recent move to New York, touring with his own group throughout the world and much more.
