Darrell began playing violin in middle and high school. Switched to jazz in high school and continued studying jazz independently. Created band concept called Da Phatfunk Clique in 2000 after initial CD release in 1999 entitled Pandemic Love. Continues to write funky jazzy grooves with a violin lead, performing for many private and public venues in addition to collaborating with other writers on their projects.
