WDCB Teams up with PianoForte
Chicago’s jazz radio station, WDCB 90.9FM, will present live radio broadcasts of five piano performances from the PianoForte Studios during the week of the Chicago Jazz Festival.
In partnership with the Chicago Jazz Festival, PianoForte Foundation and Jazz Institute of Chicago, and as part of its “Jazz Fest Week Live Broadcasts” WDCB will again simulcast the three “PianoForte Sessions” taking place at 5:30pm on August 31 and September 1 & 2. The concerts will feature Kim Cusack & Paul Asaro, Willie & Bethany Pickens and Rob Clearfield respectively.
WDCB will broadcast a live interview/performance with pianist Robert Irving III from PianoForte on Saturday, September 5 at 10am. On Sunday, September 6, the station will broadcast a live

interview/performance with pianist Ryan Cohan, also from PianoForte at 10am.
“We’re truly excited to not only be a part of, but adding to, this year jazz fest week of activities,” says Dan Bindert, WDCB Station Manager. “And better way to add than bringing these incredible jazz artists to our radio audience from the intimate, pristine setting of the PianoForte studio.”
All five live events are open to the public, and are free of charge. The PianoForte Studios are located in Chicago at 1335 S. Michigan Ave. All five live radio broadcasts will be simulcast on 90.9FM, as well as online at WDCB.org and through Chicago cable television via CAN TV42. Additionally, on Thursday, September 3, on the opening day of Jazz Fest from the Chicago Cultural Center… WDCB will simulcast sets at 12:30pm from the Ben Waltzer, and at 2pm from James Davis's Beveled. WDCB 90.9fm is a listener-supported public radio station serving Chicagoland and the world through its dedicated audio stream at WDCB.org.
