SHOW SHOUT OUT!!! Chicago Jazz Magazine Founder, Mike Jeffers, previews pianist Helen Sung 's upcoming show at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago June 9th-12th. She will be accompanied by her long-standing collaborators bassist Boris Kozlov and drummer Rudy Royston along with tenor saxophonist Walter Smith III and will be performing two sets per evening at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM plus an additional matinee on June 12 at 4:00 PM. Sung’s music builds on the new found vistas of her acclaimed 2014 Concord Jazz release Anthem For A New Day while continuing her quest for artistic discovery.
