DEE DEE BRIDGEWATER AND THE MEMPHIS SOULPHONY IN CONCERT AT THE MAC MAY 3
Grammy/Tony Award-winner Bridgewater, Backed by an 11-Piece Band, Performs Songs from her CD,"Memphis…Yes, I’m Ready"

American jazz singer, three-time Grammy Winner and Tony Award-winner Dee Dee Bridgewater and the Memphis Soulphony perform live at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) Friday, May 3, 7:30 p.m. A free MAC Chat will take place one hour prior to the performance led by WDCB Station Manager Dan Bindert, who will share the Chicago-Memphis Jazz and Soul connection.
This concert is part of Bridgewater’s tour in support of her CD “Memphis…Yes, I’m Ready” (2017) recorded at Memphis’ historic Royal Studios. The CD, a musical exploration of her roots, features Bridgewater’s reimagining of American blues, R&B and soul classics by legendary artists including Otis Redding (“Try a Little Tenderness”), Ann Peebles (“I Can’t Stand the Rain”),The Staple Singers (“Why?”), B.B. King (“The Thrill is Gone”) and others. The audience will have the chance to hear Bridgewater, backed by an 11-piece band, perform these songs, among others, live.
