4/30/26 - The Fulton Street Collective, FSC, in Chicago presented “A Jazz Occurrence - Art + Music” celebrating International Jazz Day. 10 visual artists circled the Arman Sangalang Quartet creating original artwork in response to the music as a large audience circled them. The entire event was surrounded by an art exhibit on the walls depicting “Jazz: America’s Music.”

The exhibit was curated by Ryan Miller. Jazz Occurrence was created by Lewis Achenbach. Music was performed by Arman Sangalang tenor sax, Julius Tucker piano, Christian Dillingham bass, and Greg Artry drums & cymbals. Artists reacting to the music included Lewis Achenbach, Ryan Miller, John Ross Wilson, Melanie Brown, Julian Camacho, Alex Puryear, Dale Pesman, Jessie Burton, and Wes Douglas.
