The music director of the Mambo Kings, Richard Delaney, talks with Mike Jeffers on the Chicago Jazz Audio Experience Podcast about their upcoming concert for the Grant Park Music Festival on Wednesday August 7th at 6:30pm at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
The program is called "The Mambo Kings: Hot Latin Nights", where TheMambo Kings and the Grant Park Orchestra bring Tito Puento’s burning Afro-Cuban jazz to the stage, along with the rhythmic playfulness of American jazz great Dave Brubeck, the pop strains of The Beatles, and Cuban Overtureby Gershwin. This concert is led by Artistic Conductor and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar, on Wednesday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
