JAZZ PHOTOGRAPHY RECAP: Ella Grace Premiers Her Debut Album, “Figments”, at FSC by Harvey Tillis

3/18/26 - Ella Grace’s debut album as a leader was performed at Fulton Street Collective, FSC, in Chicago. The two sets featured seven original contemporary jazz compositions for quintet and sextet. Exploring figments as catalysts for creative expression and themes of coming of age, the music comes to life through performances by some of Chicago’s top emerging jazz artists including Ella Grace trumpet, Garrett Munz saxes, Aval Stanley piano, Jesse Lear bass, and Jayden Richardson drums & cymbals. Visual artist Dale Pessman created original art in response to the music.
