JAZZ PHOTOGRAPHY RECAP: Francesco Cavestri at FSC by Harvey Tillis

5/20/26 - The Fulton Street Collective, FSC, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago presented an evening with Francesco Cavestri. Cavestri is an Italian pianist, composer, and music communicator. A graduate with top honors in Jazz Piano from the Conservatory of Bologna, he also studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, where he received several scholarships. Cavestri was named Musica Jazz’s youngest “New Talent of the Year” (2023) and was selected for Forbes Under 30 Italy (2025). A Steinway & Sons Artist and Ambassador, he is also active as a music communicator, collaborating with the educational association Il Jazz Va a Scuola. Visual artist Julian Camacho created artwork in response to the performance.
