June 17, 2025 - The Heisenberg Uncertainty Players Big Band celebrated the 50th anniversary of Wings’ 1975 album “Venus And Mars” at the Fulton Street Collective, FSC, in Chicago. The HUP is a jazz big band performing exclusively original compositions and arrangements by John Dorhauer who adapted the album as one entire continuous suite played in one set. Their second set featured original compositions. HUP is Director/Composer: John Dorhauer, Saxes: Natalie Lande, Kelley Dorhauer, Sam Pilnick, Matt Zmuda, James Baum, Trumpets: Grace Mulvey, Jon McQuade, Bennett Heinz, Emily Kuhn, Trombones: Michael Nearpass, Josh Torrey, Andrew Meyer, Dan DiCesare, Guitar: Chris Parsons, Piano: Stu Seale, Bass: Dan Parker, and Drums: Ethan Bouwsma. Visual artist Sammi Ohlson created original paintings in response to the music.
