June 12, 2025 - Bold performer, soulful composer and passionate educator Marques Carroll brought his Quintet to the Fulton Street Collective, FSC, in Chicago for a stunning, exciting set. The evening opened with a performance by the extremely talented high school members of the Illinois Honors Jazz Combo directed by Carroll. Carroll’s Quintet included Marques on trumpet, Brent Griffin alto, Julius Tucker piano, Christian Dillingham bass, and Greg Artry drums & cymbals. The Illinois Honors Combo included Nathaniel Harrigan trumpet, Eli Fisher tenor, Chloe Langford trombone, Michael Sherbar alto, Jack Geiger bass, Jude Peterson piano, Senya Rogers-Kaufman guitar, and Brett Linzing drums & cymbals. Visual artist Ryan Miller created original paintings in response to the music.
