September 18, 2025 - Soft intricate music of South American was presented by two bands at the Fulton Street Collective, FSC, in Chicago. First set was performed by the dynamic musical trio Reyes consisting of Ecuadorian percussionist and composer Andres Lopez, Argentine multi-instrumentalist and composer Guillermo Paolisso, and exciting vocalist Ana Everling. The trio blended jazz, contemporary styles, and folkloric traditions into a unique and intimate sound. The second set was a Antonio Carlos Jobim Tribute performed by Kehsin Xu featuring a blend of Jobim’s well-known and lesser-known songs. The band included Kehsin Xu (Kiki) vocals, Luciano Antonio vocals and guitar, Chris Madsen sax, Hana Fujisaki piano, Marcel Bonfim bass, and Andres Lopez drums & cymbals. Visual artist Micah Rademacher created original drawings in response to the music.
