Atlanta Jazz Festival is regarded as one of the largest FREE jazz festivals in the country, being held each Memorial Day weekend, in Piedmont Park, featuring jazz artists from all over the world.
Despite the threat of rain, the festival drew tens of thousands of attendees, celebrating both local and international jazz talent and enjoying a variety of food vendors, merchandise stalls, and interactive art installations. The Festival started with a performance by Atlanta native Baby Rose at Symphony Hall on May 23.
Throughout the weekend, the festival featured a diverse lineup, including Ravi Coltrane, honoring his father, Russell Gunn, Atlanta's own composer and trumpeter and The Joe Gransden Big Band closed the event with fans dancing to a high-energy performance.
Other talented musicians included OKAN, Luca Ciarla Trio, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, OLATUJA, and Paquito D'Rivera, with unique styles of jazz.
