This Weekend at the Green Mill - GEORGE FREEMAN’S 95th BIRTHDAY BASH w/BERNARD “PRETTY” PURDIE

In honor of the great George Freeman's Birthday celebration this weekend at the Green Mill on Friday and Saturday (April 8th & 9th), we have re-posted an interview with George Freeman by Chicago Jazz Magazine's founder Mike Jeffers. They sat down ahead of the release of George's recording "George The Bomb" on Southport Records. Throughout the interview George talks about his brothers Von and Bruz, playing with Charlie Parker, Johnny Griffin, Gene Hammons, New York in the 1950's and much more.

Also be sure not to miss the opportunity to experience George Freeman live at the Green Mill this Friday and Saturday along with another music legend, drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie! The Green Mill is located at 802 N. Broadway Ave. Chicago, IL.
