November 2 2023 - The Blueshift Big Band along with Neil Carson as guest conductor, soloist and arranger performed music from the great Nintendo composer Koji Kondo, including new charts from the Mario and Zelda series.
Joel Baer drums & cymbals / co-leader, Chris Parsons guitar / co-leader, Neil Carson guest conductor/arranger, Dan Parker bass, Brad Macdonald piano. Saxes included Matt Beck, Evon Sams, Gerald Martinez, Christian Sanchez, Sal Flores, and Karli Bunn. Trombones included Josh Torrey, Andrew Meyer, Grant Dawson, and Nick Roach. Trumpets included Chuck Parrish, Sam Wolsk, Bennett Heinz, and Juliette Gardner. Visual artist John Ross Wilson created artwork in response to the music.
