JAZZ PHOTOGRAPHY RECAP: Evon J Sams Nonet at FSC by Harvey Tillis

April 09, 2025 - The Evon J Sams Nonet performed jazz standards at the Fulton Street Collective, FSC in Chicago. Sams is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, and artist from Rockford, Illinois. His nonet consists of Sams on alto, tenor – Gerald Martinez, bari – Jacob Slocum, trumpet – Gabriel Wade, trumpet – Johnathan McQuade, trombone – Royce Harrington, piano – Austyn Menk, bass – Vinny Kabet, and drums & cymbals – Cliff Wallace. Visual artist Audrey Jewell created original artwork in response to the music.
