JazzLinks Jam Session for March at Jazz Showcase this Wednesday

Hosted in partnership with the Jazz Showcase, this monthly jam sessions provides everyone with a chance to see young talent develop right before their eyes and ears.

Students age 9–19 perform with one another and with the world-class, professional Jazz Links Mentors in the house band: pianist Robert Irving III, bassist Katie Ernst, drummer Marcus Evans, and host/saxophonist Jarrard Harris.

Jazz jam sessions have long been the place where musicians gather to connect, perform together, and hone their skills. Historically, jam sessions take place after-hours in the clubs, making it impossible for student musicians to participate. The Jazz Links Jam Session creates a live performance opportunity for student musicians to learn, grow, and connect with their jazz community.

Musicians, parents, students, siblings, and friends are all welcome and encouraged to attend these free events. For more information go to jazzinchicago.org.
