October 16, 2024 - Benny Golson's life as a musician and composer was celebrated tonight at the Fulton Street Collective, FSC, in Chicago. His sound was unmistakable and his compositions including “Whisper Not,” “Stablemates,” “I Remember Clifford,” “Along Came Betty,” “Killer Joe,” and “Blues March.” became standards. Paying tribute this evening included Andy Baker trombone, Derek Gardner trumpet, Geof Bradfield tenor sax, Jeremy Kahn piano, Larry Kohut bass, and Cliff Wallace drums & cymbals. Visual artist John Ross Wilson created original art in response to the performance.
