The New Nostalgia Band at JRAC November 5th

11/5/19 - The New Nostalgia Band performed at Chris Anderson's Jazz Record Art Collective in Chicago. New Nostalgia is a Chicago-based fusion band specializing in hard-hitting instrumental pop/jazz arrangements for a 9-piece ensemble. Led by saxophonist and composer/arranger Neil Carson and populated with some of Chicago’s greatest music-makers, New Nostalgia straddles the pop, jazz and rock idioms, as evidenced on their 2019 self-titled debut featuring 80’s pop tunes in New Nostalgia’s one-of-a-kind interpretation. With 5 horns, a 4-piece rhythm section, and a clear mission—to redefine and rediscover what pop music is and should be—New Nostalgia is equal parts past, present and future, and presents an utterly unique statement in the modern musical conversation.

The band includes Neil Carson - Alto Sax, Compositions/Arrangements, Connor Bernhard - Trumpet, Anthony Bruno - Tenor Sax, Matt Kowalski - Trombone, Andy Schlinder - Bari Sax, Brandon Hunt - Guitar, Andrew Lawrence - Keyboards, Tim Seisser - Electric Bass, and Zack Marks - Drums. Visual Artist for the evening: Jess Brooks.
